Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise approximately 45 FTEs across Plant Operations, Maintenance, and Environmental Services, building a strong, safety-first team
• Oversee plant operations to ensure continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas and oxygen necessary for facility operation and patient care
• Direct preventative maintenance programs, inspect equipment, and ensure systems operate to manufacturer recommendations and operational standards
• Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, EPA, CMS and local building and fire codes, and verify outside contractor adherence to hospital policies
• Develop job-specific customer service expectations and training plans, set clear performance expectations, and follow up on concerns professionally
• Act as a liaison with clinical and non-clinical departments to assess needs, develop action plans, and deliver facility solutions
• Manage regulatory, safety and environmental services activities, including autoclaving, bio-waste handling and life safety code compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field (preferred)
• Minimum of 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Thorough knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
• Experience with autoclaving, bio-waste handling, life safety codes and construction phasing
• Proven ability to apply engineering principles to detect, troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
• Willingness to relocate to a rural area (required)

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field (preferred)
