Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered critical care in a 16-bed CVICU unit, managing complex post-op and cardiac cases
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data using EV1000, Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines to guide treatment
• Manage ventilators and provide advanced ventilator care for critically ill patients
• Care for patients with chest tubes, central lines and arterial lines, ensuring safety and timely interventions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, perfusionists and surgical staff to optimize outcomes
• Document care accurately in the Meditech EMR and communicate changes in condition clearly during handoffs
• Participate in unit-based protocols and support a 2:1 nurse-to-patient ratio to deliver focused critical care

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience (adult ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU or similar) — candidates without this will not be considered
• Proven ventilator management experience and comfort with advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Demonstrated skill managing arterial lines, central lines and chest tubes
• CVICU-specific experience (CABG recovery, Impella, CRRT) is highly desirable
• Experience with Meditech EMR helpful; BSN and CCRN are preferred but not strictly required

Education

• Active RN license required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Swan-Ganz catheter use and EV1000 familiarity
• Ventilator management and respiratory support
• Arterial line and central line management
• Chest tube care and troubleshooting
• CRRT and Impella familiarity a plus
• Competent use of Meditech electronic medical record
• Strong teamwork, clinical judgment and communication skills in high-acuity settings
