Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert labor and delivery nursing care from triage through postpartum, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Perform OB triage assessments and make timely decisions to escalate care when needed
• Circulate and assist in C-sections and support OR teams as needed, maintaining sterile technique and smooth workflow
• Administer and manage IV therapies, including magnesium drips and other high-acuity infusions
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech and other required systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including anesthesia, NICU, and obstetrics to coordinate high-quality care
• Support patient experience by communicating clearly with families and advocating for patient-centered outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice (or compact RN eligible and able to obtain state authorization)
• Minimum 2 years of recent labor and delivery clinical experience (high-acuity experience preferred)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
• Experience with Meditech or similar electronic health record systems
• Experience circulating in the OR and IV therapy skills (magnesium and other drips) highly desirable
• AWOHHN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate certification listed as hospital-specific certification (verify requirement during interview)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of labor and delivery unit workflows, triage protocols, and high-acuity maternal care
• Proficiency in Meditech documentation and electronic charting
• Skilled in IV therapy management and medication administration for obstetric patients
• Experience with circulating C-sections and OR roles; familiarity with epidurals and spinal procedures
• Comfort working in a Level III NICU environment and collaborating with neonatal teams
• Excellent situational awareness, clinical judgment, and team communication skills
