Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients with attention to safety and comfort
• Monitor and assess cardiac status for patients requiring cardiac experience and intervention
• Perform and document patient assessments, vitals, and post-op monitoring with clinical accuracy
• Respond to emergencies using Basic Life Support (BLS) and appropriate advanced measures until help arrives
• Complete required Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam for competency validation
• Maintain accurate licensure and certification records and comply with required health screenings and immunizations
• Collaborate with surgical teams, physicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care transitions

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in California (must be verifiable)
• Surgical nursing experience (perioperative care) required
• Cardiac experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• DCI/BVP certification listed as required
• Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Up-to-date health requirements including COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB screening, hepatitis B, influenza vaccine, Tdap, varicella, and drug screening

Knowledge & Skills

• Surgical nursing and perioperative workflows
• Cardiac patient assessment and monitoring
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and emergency response
• Competency with DCI/BVP processes and related equipment
• Infection control, immunization requirements, and occupational health screening
• Accuracy in documentation and license/certification verification
• Comfort with skills validation and standardized competency exams
