Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to outpatient cardiology patients following established standards
• Assist providers and clinic staff in coordinating patient care and follow-up
• Serve as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and providers to ensure smooth clinic operations
• Perform and interpret EKGs and monitor patients for cardiac arrhythmias
• Administer cardiac medications and support cardiac procedures as directed
• Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, and follow-up plans
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and participate in quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• MT RN licensure (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic coronary class (required)
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• At least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience preferred

Education

• Graduate of nursing program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of EKG interpretation and cardiac arrhythmias
• Familiarity with cardiac medications and outpatient cardiac procedures
• Patient care and care coordination skills
• Basic nursing principles and procedures
• Medical terminology and basic office skills
• Key boarding skills and ability to serve as a patient liaison
• Teamwork and strong communication abilities
