Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety
• Position patients and prepare them for CT scanning with clear, compassionate instructions
• Administer contrast agents as indicated and monitor patients for reactions (DCI/BVP skills required)
• Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to ensure accurate imaging protocols and timely results
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation in accordance with facility policies
• Perform routine equipment checks, quality control, and report any technical issues promptly
• Follow infection control procedures and required health screenings to protect patients and staff
• Participate in competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Current CT technologist competency and experience (CT imaging proficiency required)
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP (contrast administration) certification required or verified
• Current license/certificate verification as required by state and facility
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, TB, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)
• Successful completion of facility-specific testing: Prime Core Competencies, Specialty Exam, and Skills Checklist
• Strong communication skills and ability to work compassionately with diverse patient populations

Education

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or CT program preferred
• Certification or registry in radiologic technology (ARRT or equivalent) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with CT scanners and cross-sectional imaging techniques
• Understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
• Familiarity with PACS and digital imaging workflows
• Skill in patient positioning, IV contrast protocols, and emergency response for contrast reactions
• Ability to follow imaging protocols, troubleshoot artifacts, and optimize image quality
• Professional documentation, HIPAA compliance, and teamwork in fast-paced settings
