Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in a busy rural ED
• Assess patients rapidly and accurately, implementing the nursing care process and adjusting plans as needed
• Triage patients and prioritize care to ensure timely, appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient treatment and disposition
• Document patient care and outcomes thoroughly and professionally
• Act proactively in a fast-paced environment, learning quickly and supporting department flow
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient care

Qualifications

• Current Vermont RN license or compact multi-state RN license required
• BLS and ACLS required
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room RN experience required
• TNCC and trauma nursing experience preferred
• Familiarity with Meditech or demonstrated ability to learn the EHR quickly
• Ability to work nights and cover mid-shifts as needed
• Credentialing documents must be uploaded no later than five business days before start date

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and patient assessment in emergency settings
• Emergency Department nursing and triage skills
• Nursing care process and care coordination across teams
• Comfort working in a busy, rural critical access hospital
• Experience with Meditech or aptitude to learn new EHR systems quickly
• Team collaboration, adaptability, and strong communication under pressure
