Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify medications and ensure accurate, safe dispensing for an entire 285-bed hospital
• Perform vancomycin, aminoglycoside and anticoagulant dosing and monitoring
• Provide pain consults and clinical support to the care team
• Compound sterile IVs and verify preparations using DoseEdge
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, oversee Pyxis checks and first-dose processes
• Manage emergency med boxes and support rapid response medication needs
• Document clinical interventions and communicate effectively using Meditech EMR

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD or equivalent) required
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in Missouri (MO license required)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant pharmacy experience preferred
• ACLS and BLS certifications preferred
• NICU experience a plus for candidates with neonatal practice background
• Demonstrated experience with sterile compounding, medication verification and supervising technicians

Education

• Degree from an accredited Pharmacy School (PharmD preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations and medication safety
• Experience with DoseEdge, Pyxis and Pak Edge automated systems
• Comfortable documenting and navigating Meditech EMR
• Clinical dosing expertise: vancomycin, aminoglycosides and anticoagulants
• Skilled in sterile compounding workflows and IV verification
• Excellent communication and teamwork when coordinating with nursing and providers
