Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in an acute care hospital setting and determine functional status
• Develop individualized care plans to address rehabilitation diagnosis and goals
• Deliver evidence-based acute care physical therapy interventions (orthopedics, neurology, cardiopulmonary)
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care with PTAs, OTs, COTAs, speech therapists and rehab techs
• Document assessments, plans and progress thoroughly using Cerner PowerChart
• Safely mobilize patients using gait belts, walkers and patient lifting equipment (SARA+, Stedy, Maximove)
• Communicate evaluation results and plan of care to patients, families and interdisciplinary staff

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BS in Physical Therapy) as requested in the posting
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years of PT experience noted on the posting; acute care experience preferred (at least 1 year preferred)
• Comfort with acute care procedures and working in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Ability to work independently across units and provide 1:1 patient care as needed
