Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room with required instruments and supplies before procedures
• Scrub in and assist the surgical team by passing instruments and maintaining the sterile field
• Ensure proper setup and functioning of OR equipment and implants when needed
• Respond promptly and professionally to on-call/call back requests
• Perform instrument counts and accurate documentation to support patient safety
• Participate in competency testing and skills validation (Prime exams and checklists)
• Follow infection control protocols and support compliance with health screenings and immunizations

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Scrub Tech in an Operating Room setting
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• License/Certificate Verification completed and up to date
• Willingness to accept on-call and callback assignments
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam preferred
• Up-to-date health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, TB, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Familiarity with OR workflows and patient safety practices
• Ability to perform accurate counts and maintain documentation
• Good communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure environments
• Comfort with competency testing and continuing skills validation
• Attention to detail and strong infection control practices
