Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and use findings to guide care planning
• Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to ensure safe, high-quality care
• Provide direct telemetry patient care, including cardiac monitoring and timely documentation
• Communicate clinical changes and diagnostic results clearly to physicians and the care team
• Teach and support patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge plans
• Guide and coordinate activities of nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and intervene as needed
• Participate in required competency testing and unit-specific skills validation

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Telemetry experience and competency in cardiac monitoring
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• Completion of employer-required screenings and compliance (e.g., Nursys verification, immunizations, fit test)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation
• Cardiac monitoring and basic rhythm interpretation
• Direct patient care in a telemetry unit
• Effective physician and interdisciplinary communication
• Patient/family teaching and education
• Familiarity with ventilator management (preferred)
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond to acute changes
