Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert critical care nursing for ICU patients, including post-CABG and other high-acuity cardiac cases
• Manage ventilator support and perform advanced ventilator care for ventilated patients
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring and interpret hemodynamic data to guide safe patient care
• Deliver resuscitation and emergency interventions using ACLS/BLS protocols when needed
• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate complex care plans
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Meditech and conduct bedside shift reports with whiteboard updates
• Support unit-specific procedures and follow strict infection control and unit guidelines to keep patients safe

Qualifications

• Active Texas RN license required (temporary license not accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years of ICU experience (CVICU experience preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Proven experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Comfort caring for post-CABG patients and those on advanced cardiac therapies; ECMO and heart transplant experience is a plus
• Ability to work rotating schedules and participate in bedside shift report practices

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and prioritization skills
• Ventilator management and airway care expertise
• Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
• Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
• CPR proficiency and ACLS protocol application
• Experience working in high-acuity cardiac/ICU environments (CVICU, post-op cardiac care)
