Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality labor and delivery care, supporting patients through labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
• Deliver compassionate postpartum nursing, assessing maternal recovery and educating families
• Manage newborn nursery care including routine assessments, feeding support, and safe sleep education
• Assist in surgical/procedural scrub duties when needed (scrub ability is a bonus)
• Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization as required, collaborating with the team
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record and communicate updates to the care team
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary staff to ensure smooth patient flow and safe outcomes
• Support new parents with education, discharge planning, and community resource referrals

Qualifications

• Current Washington RN license required (multistate licenses accepted with required verifications)
• If using multistate license: completed 6-hour suicide prevention training and Nursys demographics verification
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• STABLE training preferred but not required
• Clinical experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursery
• Ability to scrub is a plus
• RTO (return-to-office/time-off) must be approved and will be added to the end of the contract

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment skills in maternal and newborn care
• Familiarity with Meditech or other electronic medical records is helpful
• Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization knowledge
• Excellent patient education and family-centered care abilities
• Team communication, situational awareness, and emergency response skills
• Comfort performing procedural assistance/scrub when called upon
