Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality external beam radiation treatments using TrueBeam, Ethos and MRIdian with consistent attention to patient safety
• Perform CBCT/kV/mV imaging and verify precise patient positioning for IMRT, SRS and respiratory-gated treatments
• Document treatments and clinical interactions accurately in EPIC to ensure seamless continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with dosimetrists, physicists, physicians and nursing staff as part of an interdisciplinary oncology team
• Maintain and enforce radiation safety practices and infection control (PPE/isolation precautions) at all times
• Provide compassionate patient- and family-centered teaching and support throughout the treatment process
• Assist with special procedures as needed, including brachytherapy support and intracavity/interstitial assistance
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations and participate in rapid response/code teams when required

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years Radiation Therapist experience required; 5 years preferred
• Active ARRT (T) certification required
• BLS certification required
• Valid California state Radiation Therapist license required
• Experience in adult outpatient radiation therapy settings, including IMRT, SRS and CBCT imaging
• Familiarity with Varian/ARIA, TrueBeam and record & verify systems
• EPIC documentation experience required
• COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations required per facility policy (medical/religious exemptions considered); first-time travelers welcome

Knowledge & Skills

• TrueBeam, Ethos and MRIdian LinAc operation
• Varian/ARIA record & verify systems and Varian Vision
• CBCT/kV/mV imaging and patient positioning verification
• IMRT, external beam therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)
• Respiratory gating techniques and prostate treatments with seeds/fiducials
• Radiation safety principles and QA practices
• CT simulation workflows (Siemens) and custom mold fabrication familiarity
• Brachytherapy assistance and intracavity/interstitial support
• Emergency response skills: crash cart, defibrillator and rapid response participation
• Patient and family education, isolation precautions and compassionate outpatient care
