Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to residents, helping with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Assist with mobility and safe transfers, promoting independence while preventing falls
• Support daily living activities including feeding assistance and mealtime support
• Observe, document, and report changes in resident condition to the nursing team promptly
• Follow infection control and safety procedures to maintain a clean, secure environment
• Communicate warmly and clearly with residents, families, and the care team to promote coordinated care
• Participate in care plan activities and team huddles to help ensure quality outcomes

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) — your core credential for this role
• Friendly, patient-focused attitude with strong communication skills
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings as part of hiring
• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings is a plus
• Basic familiarity with resident documentation and care reporting

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA program or equivalent training

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and best practices in geriatric care
• Strong interpersonal skills and compassionate resident-centered care
• Basic safety, infection control, and body mechanics for safe resident handling
• Ability to observe, report, and document clinical and behavioral changes
• Teamwork and collaboration with nursing staff and facility personnel
