Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Provide compassionate, respectful care tailored to each resident's needs
• Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
• Help with safe transfers, mobility assistance, and fall prevention
• Support mealtime assistance and monitor dietary needs as directed
• Document care activities accurately and communicate observations to nurses
• Create moments of comfort and companionship to enhance resident quality of life

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent required
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with mobility and transfers; ability to safely lift as required
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as per facility policy
• Compassionate, patient-centered attitude and strong teamwork skills
• Previous experience with geriatric patients is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent and GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care and activities of daily living
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling techniques
• Good observational skills and clear communication with nursing staff
• Basic documentation skills and following care plans
• Empathy, patience, and cultural sensitivity when interacting with residents
