Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs and residents' condition accurately
• Support safe transfer and repositioning to prevent falls and pressure injuries
• Communicate clearly with nurses and interdisciplinary team about resident changes
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through attentive care

Qualifications

• Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification or state-equivalent credential
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings
• Comfort with hands-on patient care and safe lifting/transfer techniques
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, bathing, toileting, feeding assistance
• Knowledge of infection control and safety best practices
• Ability to observe, document, and report changes in resident condition
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a care team
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
• Respect for resident dignity, privacy, and individualized care plans
