Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate personal care to geriatric residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
• Assist nursing staff with routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and observing changes in condition
• Document resident care accurately and promptly to support safe care transitions
• Support residents emotionally through friendly engagement, activity participation, and companionship
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• GNA certification (required) or equivalent state credential
• Prior experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Ability to follow care plans, communicate effectively with nursing staff, and document observations
• Reliable, compassionate, and physically able to assist with resident transfers and mobility

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• GNA certification or state-recognized nursing assistant credential

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care best practices and common age-related conditions
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with residents and families
• Basic clinical skills including vital signs and safe transfer techniques
• Attention to detail for accurate charting and handoffs
• Teamwork mindset and willingness to pitch in to ensure resident-centered care
