Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming with dignity and care
• Support safe mobility by helping residents transfer, walk, and use assistive devices
• Take and record vital signs accurately and promptly notify nursing staff of any concerns
• Provide compassionate mealtime assistance and feeding support when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate care updates to the care team and families
• Ensure a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures
• Build trusting relationships with residents through patience, respect, and consistent person-centered care

Qualifications

• Certification/Class: Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) required
• Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Demonstrated compassion, strong communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and assisting residents

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe patient handling
• Strong observational skills and the ability to report changes promptly
• Good documentation and basic charting skills
• Effective communication with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams
