Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage ventilator settings and deliver high-quality ventilator care for critically ill patients
• Perform ABG collection and analysis to guide respiratory treatment decisions
• Provide tracheostomy care and assist with intubations when needed
• Assess patients continually and adjust respiratory interventions based on clinical findings
• Deliver high-flow oxygen therapy, bronchodilator treatments, and airway clearance procedures
• Respond to code blue situations and support the emergency team with respiratory expertise
• Safely transport patients and coordinate care during transfers
• Document care accurately and efficiently in Meditech to ensure continuity and quality

Qualifications

• Active RRT or CRT credential required
• BLS and ACLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
• ICU experience preferred (at least 1 year preferred by unit)
• Familiarity with Drager and Philips V60 ventilators, Vapotherm, and Metaneb
• Current state respiratory license and ability to meet travel assignment credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in ventilator management and settings adjustment
• Proficient in ABG collection and interpretation
• Experience with trach care, intubation assist, and airway clearance techniques
• Skilled in high-flow oxygen therapy and bronchodilator therapy
• Comfortable responding to code blues and high-acuity situations
• Experience documenting in Meditech or similar EMR systems
• Ability to work independently on night shifts and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
