Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in a busy OR environment, prioritizing patient safety and outcomes
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and sterile supplies so each case runs smoothly
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to coordinate efficient patient flow
• Document accurately and timely in EPIC to ensure complete clinical records and continuity of care
• Respond professionally and quickly when on-call, assessing and triaging cases as needed
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards to protect patients and staff
• Participate in required competency testing and skills validation to maintain readiness

Qualifications

• Active RN license (Nursys verification listed) in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience in a busy OR department
• EPIC experience is required — you’ll be documenting and coordinating in the EMR daily
• Current certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NIHSS, DCI/BVP (as listed)
• Willingness and ability to participate in the on-call rotation (one night every 2 weeks, one weekend every 6 weeks)
• Completion of required screenings and health requirements (drug screen, TB test/PPD, immunizations, fit test, etc.)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative and intraoperative nursing knowledge and OR workflow
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation and perioperative modules
• Excellent sterile technique and infection prevention practices
• Rhythm interpretation and basic pharmacology knowledge (Prime exams required)
• Clear communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure situations
• Time management and ability to adapt when case schedules change
