Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day shifts (typically 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) — 3 x 12-hour dialysis shifts per week with 2 Saturdays per month; weekly stand-by rotation 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Mon-Sat eligible) plus once-per-month 24-hour Sunday stand-by (7:00 AM Sunday - 7:00 AM Monday) and occasional backup 24-hour Sunday standby; coverage rotates across Denville, Dover, Passaic and Newark campuses

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality hemodialysis care to patients, monitoring response and adjusting treatment under protocol
• Perform thorough assessments and document patient condition, treatment parameters and outcomes with attention to detail
• Operate and troubleshoot dialysis equipment and alarms, escalating issues promptly to clinical leadership
• Provide patient and family education on dialysis care, access care and infection prevention in a clear, compassionate manner
• Participate in stand-by and cross-campus coverage, stepping in as needed to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nephrology, LTAC staff and unit leadership to optimize patient outcomes
• Remain on-site to complete a third dialysis shift when staffing requires it, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• DCI/BVP certification (required)
• Minimum hemodialysis clinical experience (dialysis treatment competency expected)
• Comfort with 12-hour shifts and weekly stand-by responsibilities, plus Saturday availability
• Prime system testing completion: Basic Pharmacology, Rhythm Interpretation, Core Competencies, Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam
• Immunizations and health screenings as listed (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap) and required drug screening and fit test

Education

• Active RN license; dialysis-specific training and demonstrated competency required

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of hemodialysis treatment and circuitry
• Skill with dialysis machines, access care and emergency protocols
• Patient assessment, medication administration and basic pharmacology knowledge
• Ability to manage on-call/stand-by responsibilities and triage remotely when needed
• Experience working across multiple campuses and in LTAC settings is a plus
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
