Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care on MedSurg Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit, monitoring cardiac and post-procedural patients
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Manage telemetry monitoring and interpret rhythms to identify changes in patient status
• Support cardiac care needs including patients with cardiac catheterization history and PCU-level acuity
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain timely communication with providers and family
• Participate in Prime competency checks and maintain required certifications and skills documentation
• Float between units with flexibility and professional composure to meet unit staffing needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Rhode Island is a compact state; Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 2+ years recent MedSurg Telemetry nursing experience with 2+ years cardiac experience
• Experience with cardiac patients, including familiarity with Cardiac Caths and PCU care
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (ACLS must show prior use in past positions; newly obtained for compliance is not acceptable)
• DCI/BVP certification as listed by the client
• EPIC electronic health record experience required
• Submission package: Cover sheet, Resume, Skills Checklist, 2 References, License/Certification, Nursys report (within 30 days)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition
• Cardiac post-procedure care and familiarity with cardiac cath patients
• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) level nursing skills
• MedSurg nursing best practices and patient assessment
• Proficiency with EPIC documentation and workflow
• Strong clinical judgment, prioritization, and teamwork while floating across units
• Comfort with Prime competency exams and skills validation processes
