Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, patient-centered oncology and post-surgical care on a 24-bed unit
• Administer medications and therapies safely, including chemo-related care when certified
• Document all care accurately in Cerner EMR to ensure seamless team communication
• Monitor and manage patient conditions consistent with 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratios
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members—CNCs, CNAs, HUCs—to optimize outcomes
• Perform and assist with occasional procedures such as pelvic exams, echo support, and thoracentesis
• Adhere to unit policies, dress code, and hospital guidelines while promoting a positive unit culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience (experience listed as 2 years)
• Oncology and med-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Chemo certification preferred (candidates with this will be prioritized)
• CNA license noted as acceptable in some cases per listing
• Comfort using Cerner EMR and standard unit equipment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong oncology nursing knowledge and med-surgical skill set
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
• Ability to safely administer and monitor infusions and complex medications
• Familiarity with common inpatient procedures and post-op care
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced unit with variable acuity
