Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing to adult ICU patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor hemodynamic status
• Manage ventilators, advanced monitoring devices, and complex medication regimens
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans
• Respond promptly to emergencies and participate in code/team resuscitation efforts
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Support patient and family education with compassion and clear communication
• Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to maintain clinical proficiency

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California) — must be in good standing (Nursys verification listed)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and DCI/BVP certifications as listed by the facility
• Demonstrated ICU / critical care nursing experience or specialty training
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies, Specialty and Basic Pharmacology exams as required
• Up-to-date occupational health requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB testing/X-ray, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, fit testing, and drug screen

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN/ASN or BSN preferred)
• Active RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical judgment
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and titratable drips
• Experience with ventilator management and airway support
• Medication administration safety and ICU pharmacology knowledge
• Clear communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Infection control practices and adherence to safety protocols
• Ability to perform under pressure and prioritize complex tasks
