Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert cath lab nursing care during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Monitor hemodynamics and interpret cardiac rhythms, escalating changes promptly
• Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, ensuring sterile technique and safety
• Collaborate with cardiologists, techs, and other team members for efficient, high-quality care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
• Participate in on-call coverage and respond as required to support procedural needs

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure (California) required
• Cath Lab nursing experience preferred (traveler role expects procedure familiarity)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, DCI/BVP
• Willingness and ability to meet on-call requirement: 10 days/month with 4 weekend days (Fri/Sat/Sun)
• Ability to pass required screenings: drug screen, TB/PPD, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Influenza, Tdap), fit test, color-blind test
• Completion of Prime competency testing and skills checklist as part of onboarding

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong rhythm interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
• Familiarity with cath lab equipment, sterile field management, and procedural workflows
• Solid assessment skills for pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient care
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced procedural settings
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Comfort with rapid decision-making and escalation when patient status changes
