Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality oncology nursing care for adult surgical and oncology patients
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other oncologic treatments following protocols and safety checks
• Perform and assist with procedures common to the unit such as pelvic exams, echoes, and thoracentesis when indicated
• Utilize Cerner EMR to document assessments, medications, and patient care plans accurately and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust individualized patient care plans
• Prioritize patient safety and infection control practices while managing a typical 1:4 or 1:5 patient ratio
• Support patients and families with education, symptom management, and emotional support during their stay

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• CNA license listed as part of the hiring profile (as applicable)
• BLS certification (required)
• Chemo certification preferred (candidates with this will be considered first)
• Minimum 2 years relevant nursing experience (as listed)
• Comfortable working night shifts and contributing to weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Oncology nursing and medical-surgical nursing experience
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR for charting and medication administration
• Skills in chemo administration and oncology patient monitoring
• Experience or comfort with occasional pelvic exams, echocardiography monitoring, and thoracentesis care
• Strong teamwork, communication, and patient education abilities
