Roles & Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the surgical services team, ensuring safe, efficient perioperative care for every patient
Oversee circulating RN activities and surgical workflows to maintain high standards of patient care and safety
Implement short- and long-term solutions for departmental challenges through clinical problem solving and process improvements
Delegate duties effectively and maintain operational standards across surgical services
Coordinate with physicians, ancillary departments, and peers to deliver seamless perioperative and post-anesthesia care
Coach, mentor, and evaluate staff performance while fostering a collaborative, patient-centered culture

Qualifications

Current California RN license (required)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (required)
Minimum 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery (required)
Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (required)
CNOR preferred
One year of post-anesthesia care experience preferred
Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred
Strong written and oral English skills

Education

Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing
Bachelor degree or equivalent (required)
CNOR (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

Perioperative nursing and circulating RN expertise
Ability to identify, evaluate, and solve problems in the surgical department
Leadership, delegation, and team supervision skills
Competence in clinical problem solving and implementing operational improvements
Comfort maintaining composure and responding appropriately during emergencies
Physical ability to sit/stand for extended periods and safely lift/carry up to 35 pounds
