Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist, applying therapeutic procedures and modalities to improve strength, mobility, coordination, and body alignment
• Implement treatment plans using assistive devices and evidence-based techniques to relieve pain and restore function
• Monitor patient progress and communicate outcomes and changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safe mobility, and fall-prevention strategies
• Document treatments, patient responses, and plan updates accurately and in a timely manner to ensure regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Valid California License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
• Ability to work under clinical supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and follow the State Practice Act
• Strong communication skills and patient-centered approach
• Current CPR/BLS as required by employer or facility (if requested by hiring site)

Education

• Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and therapeutic procedures
• Use of therapeutic modalities and assistive devices
• Muscle strengthening and range of motion interventions
• Coordination and mobility training techniques
• Body alignment assessment and pain-relief strategies
• Familiarity with State Practice Act requirements and clinical documentation
