Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive sonographic examinations across required body parts for diagnostic interpretation
• Apply professional judgment and radiation protection principles during procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation for each study
• Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance and participate in accreditation efforts
• Care for ultrasound transducers and maintain neatness of the work area
• Assist with ultrasound-guided invasive procedures and collaborate with referring physicians
• Rotate shifts as required and step into supervisory duties in the absence of the manager
• Pursue continuing education to meet RDMS/radiology requirements and advance clinical skills

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS certification in at least one modality (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, or RDCS) — required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association — required
• Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality and willingness to learn additional modalities
• Comfortable assuming departmental responsibilities and working under occasional stress
• Ability and willingness to travel to provide services at various SEARHC sites as needed

Education

• Current ARDMS certification in one category (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in sonographic examination techniques and diagnostic interpretation
• Knowledge of radiation protection principles and patient safety
• Experience with patient transfer, positioning, and compassionate patient care
• Skill in transducer maintenance and Trophon station care/disinfection
• Familiarity with departmental quality assurance, accreditation processes, and policy development
• Strong documentation, communication, and teamwork abilities
