Roles & Responsibilities

• Partner with clinical leaders and the CNA clinical educator to design, deliver, and evaluate LTC-focused education
• Develop and implement standardized clinical competency programs and curricula that meet policy and accreditation standards
• Provide high-quality training for new employees and ongoing staff development using both in-person and virtual modalities
• Support student clinical coordination with local educational partners and facilitate effective preceptorships
• Use evidence-based research to identify strategies that improve nursing practice, professional development, and patient outcomes
• Serve as a key member of the Clinical Nursing Education program and contribute to consortium-wide projects
• Act as liaison for clinical education opportunities and ensure educational activities align with SEARHC mission and standards
• Travel to regional sites as needed to deliver training and assess competency implementation

Qualifications

• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) required
• Current, full, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required; direct hire must have applied for an Alaska license before start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for providers required
• BLS Instructor certification preferred or must be obtained within 1 year of hire
• Clinical Competency assessment completion required within 3 months of hire and maintained per policy
• Minimum 5 years of professional nursing experience with at least 2 years in long-term care
• Minimum 2 years of clinical instructor/educator experience (one year may be replaced by supervisory experience)
• Supervisory experience preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical education and curriculum development for adult learners
• Competency assessment and competency program implementation
• Long-term care and geriatric patient care expertise
• Training delivery in-person and virtually (familiar with TEAMS and other platforms)
• Experience with tools like Workday, SharePoint, Smartsheet, PowerPoint, Canva, and Articulate
• Strong written and oral communication and leadership skills
• Evidence-based practice and quality improvement focus
• Ability to create positive training environments and support preceptorships
