Roles & Responsibilities

• Assure patients’ drug therapy needs are met by reviewing and optimizing medication plans
• Manage drug distribution processes including unit dose systems and IV admixtures
• Prepare and verify sterile and non-sterile admixtures with attention to safety and accuracy
• Teach and mentor staff and trainees to support a culture of continuous learning
• Perform administrative duties that support pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
• Conduct and contribute to clinical research and quality improvement initiatives
• Communicate clearly with the care team and patients to ensure safe, effective medication use
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and facility policies

Qualifications

• Hospital pharmacy experience required (experience beyond retail is essential)
• Familiarity with unit dose systems and preparation of IV admixtures
• Strong computer skills and comfort with pharmacy information systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently
• Demonstrated ability to perform administrative tasks and participate in teaching and research

• Clinical pharmacy practice and medication therapy management

• IV admixtures and sterile compounding knowledge
• Regulatory compliance with state and federal healthcare laws
• Computer and pharmacy information system proficiency
