Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide on-site medical care including prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of athletic injuries
• Cover athletic events and after-school activities at the contracted high school, offering timely emergency care when needed
• Perform musculoskeletal evaluations, collect histories, diagnose injuries and develop clear plans of care
• Manage concussion assessment and supervise return-to-play progression with careful symptom monitoring
• Document treatments and evaluations accurately and communicate findings and plans with athletes, parents and coaches
• Conduct occupational health and rehab services including POETs, desk assessments, FPNs and job-specific conditioning programs
• Serve as a physician extender in the orthopedic clinic — take histories, help schedule surgeries and educate patients
• Coordinate schedules to ensure event coverage and collaborate with team members to prevent future injuries

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology required
• Minimum 1+ years of related work experience
• Current Athletic Trainer license in Wisconsin required and must be maintained
• Certification by the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers required
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Valid driver's license required
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, or Kinesiology

Knowledge & Skills

• Intermediate to expert computer proficiency for documentation and scheduling
• Ability to perform musculoskeletal examinations and concussion evaluations
• Knowledge of emergency care procedures and occupational health practices
• Experience with post-offer employment tests (POETs), desk assessments and functional progress assessments
• Excellent interpersonal communication, compassion and problem-solving skills
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills
