Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care across the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
• Act as a strong patient advocate, ensuring patient safety, dignity, and informed decision-making
• Serve as the circulating nurse during surgical procedures, coordinating care and resources for smooth operations
• Direct and supervise assigned personnel, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment
• Utilize the nursing process and established standards of care to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Follow facility policies and procedures while maintaining accurate clinical documentation
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (ability to practice in Oregon preferred)
• Experience in perioperative nursing or as a circulating nurse (perioperative skills demonstrated)
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate assigned personnel
• Familiarity with preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative care standards and policies
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and commitment to patient advocacy

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and surgical patient care knowledge
• Preoperative assessment, intraoperative coordination, and postoperative monitoring
• Patient advocacy and the nursing process
• Understanding of standards of care, policies, and procedures
• Ability to supervise staff and direct perioperative activities
