Roles & Responsibilities

• Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes in compliance with PT Board requirements
• Assist in maintaining the therapy department and ensure treatment areas are clean and safe
• Participate in patient care and rehabilitation conferences to coordinate multidisciplinary care
• Provide caregiver training and instruct families or nursing staff on maintenance programs for discharge readiness
• Support nursing staff by training restorative aides and assisting with restorative programs
• Report and follow up on equipment issues to ensure safe, effective therapy delivery
• Communicate patient progress, problems, and plans clearly with supervisors and the care team

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of California and in good standing with the state board
• Proficient computer skills with experience inputting data into Casamba and PointClickCare
• Ability to meet continuing education requirements per state practice
• Strong communication skills and ability to relate positively with patients, families, and teammates
• Experience with treatment documentation, treatment plan implementation, and direct patient care
• Comfort training staff and caregivers, including restorative aides

Education

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (must maintain state license and meet state continuing education requirements)

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and hands-on rehabilitation techniques
• Treatment plan implementation and modification under PT direction
• Accurate treatment documentation and weekly progress note preparation
• Proficiency with Casamba and PointClickCare electronic documentation systems
• Caregiver training, in-service training, and restorative aide support
• Equipment maintenance awareness and reporting
• Effective communication and team collaboration
• General computer proficiency for charting and reporting
