Roles & Responsibilities

• Verify and enter medication orders accurately to ensure patient safety
• Perform medication checking and dispensing for inpatient populations
• Provide comprehensive patient care in both inpatient and ambulatory settings
• Rotate into ambulatory services (anticoagulation clinic, oncology, etc.) as needed
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technicians, and other care team members
• Ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws
• Document clinical interventions and communicate medication-related recommendations
• Participate in quality improvement and medication safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Pennsylvania pharmacist license or eligible for reciprocity within 90 days of hire
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
• Recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Pharmacy residency preferred for ambulatory rotations
• Advanced practice certifications are a plus
• BLS certification required for certain ambulatory roles (meets American Heart Association standards) and must be renewed every two years
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to work with minimal supervision

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (required)
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
• Skill in medication order entry, verification, checking and dispensing
• Experience in inpatient pharmacy workflows and ambulatory clinic services
• Ability to interact positively with pharmacy technicians, providers, nurses and medical sales representatives
• Clinical judgment across patient populations from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Commitment to medication safety, documentation and regulatory compliance
