Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain infection prevention practices across the community hospital setting
• Monitor and evaluate sterile processing and operating room infection control processes
• Conduct surveillance, data collection, and timely reporting of infection trends
• Collaborate with OR teams, sterile processing staff, and hospital leadership to reduce risk
• Provide education and training to clinical and support staff on infection prevention protocols
• Investigate potential exposures or outbreaks and coordinate corrective actions

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Infection Control with strong background in operating room and sterile processing (community hospital experience preferred)
• Experience implementing hospital-wide infection prevention practices
• Excellent communication skills for education and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Comfortable with surveillance, reporting, and leading improvement initiatives
• Relevant certifications such as CIC or RN licensure are a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of infection prevention principles and best practices
• Familiarity with sterile processing workflows and OR protocols
• Ability to analyze surveillance data and translate findings into action
• Strong teaching and mentoring skills for staff education
• Detail-oriented with excellent documentation and reporting abilities
