Shift Type: Rotating night 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, schedule cycles across the week with a typical pattern of 5 nights on/2 nights off followed by 2 nights on/5 nights off (schedule negotiable), night shift
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality critical care nursing to adult ICU patients and occasional pediatric patients
- Monitor and interpret patient data, respond quickly to changes in condition, and escalate when needed
- Administer medications, manage ventilators and critical care equipment, and follow advanced care protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust plans of care
- Perform thorough assessments and document accurately to support continuity of care
- Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during high-stress situations
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to keep standards high
Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license in state of practice or compact RN license as applicable
- Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required
- Experience working in an adult ICU; comfort with occasional pediatric assessment is important
- Comfort and competence with 12-hour night ICU shifts and independent decision-making
- Strong assessment, critical thinking and communication skills
- Professional, reliable, and able to collaborate effectively with a rural hospital team
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active RN license required
Knowledge & Skills
- Critical care assessment and bedside monitoring
- Ventilator management and advanced airway support
- Medication administration and titration in critical care settings
- Familiarity with standard ICU equipment and electronic charting systems
- Ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations and multitask effectively
- Pediatric assessment basics for occasional younger patients
