Roles & Responsibilities
- Triage patients quickly and safely, prioritizing care based on clinical need
- Perform thorough patient assessments and initiate appropriate interventions
- Collaborate closely with physicians, mid-level providers, and the care team to coordinate treatment
- Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and escalate when needed
- Provide direct patient care including IV therapy and use of manual and electronic medical equipment
- Document patient status, treatments, and outcomes clearly and accurately
- Give clear direction to ED techs, registration staff, and allied health personnel
- Contribute to a culture of teamwork, compassion, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Current MT State RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC required or obtainable within 6 months of hire
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Ability to operate manual and electronic medical equipment and perform IV skills
- Willingness to complete pre-employment screenings: background check, drug screen, health/immunizations
Education
- Degree from an accredited nursing program required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency Department nursing principles and triage best practices
- Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- IV skills and familiarity with a range of ED equipment
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and providers
- Basic office skills and comfort with electronic documentation systems
- Teamwork mindset and ability to lead small teams in fast-paced situations
