Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, individualized respiratory care based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Perform patient assessments and develop/implement respiratory care plans that improve outcomes
- Coordinate care with the Cardiopulmonary Director, Lead RRT, and interdisciplinary team
- Operate within scope of practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and maintain accurate documentation
- Function independently once oriented and contribute as a reliable team player
- Support obstetrics (OB) patients with specialized respiratory needs and interventions
- Safely lift, move, and handle patients and equipment according to department standards
Qualifications
- Current Washington State Respiratory Care Practitioner license
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required or equivalent
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
- Strong Obstetrics (OB) experience required
- Prefer one year of recent acute care experience; new graduates may be considered
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with the care team
- Meet physical requirements (lifting and patient handling as described by the facility)
Knowledge & Skills
- Respiratory care and cardiopulmonary care fundamentals
- Patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Acute care competencies (preferred)
- Safe patient handling and mobility techniques
- Clear clinical documentation and communication with interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to follow departmental protocols and function under minimal supervision
