Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality telemetry nursing care for adult and geriatric patients on an orthopedic/neurosurgical trauma unit
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias to guide timely interventions
• Manage IVs, PICC and central lines, administer blood products, and perform phlebotomy safely
• Provide feeding tube care and manage respiratory supports including BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula
• Respond as part of rapid response/code teams and collaborate on emergency care when needed
• Perform wound care, including wound vac management and care of surgical drains
• Document patient care accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up needs

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license — active NC license required (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum ~2 years experience in MS/Telemetry (as listed for this role)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH (NIHSS preferred)
• Comfortable with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and emergency response
• Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs and to work every-other-weekend
• First-time travel nurses welcome — travel experience not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac monitoring with strong rhythm interpretation skills
• IV therapy, peripheral and central line care, PICC line management
• Blood product administration and safe transfusion practices
• Feeding tube care and management
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• Wound care including wound vacs and drain management
• Charting and documentation in Epic
• Comfort working with trauma, ortho and neurosurgical patient populations
