Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ care needs and develop individualized, person-centered plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide and coordinate nursing care for individuals and groups, partnering with physicians as needed
• Lead and delegate to licensed and non-licensed staff; serve as a clinical leader and mentor
• Maintain a safe, recovery-focused environment through vigilant safety monitoring and milieu management
• Document, report, and verify clinical information according to policy and best practice
• Educate patients and families on discharge planning and after-care needs to support long-term recovery
• Support quality improvement initiatives by reviewing protocols and suggesting process enhancements
• Model the organization’s mission and values through professional, compassionate care

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health nursing experience required
• Demonstrated experience with patient assessment, care planning, and documentation
• Ability to provide clinical leadership, mentor staff, and function as a charge nurse when needed
• Willingness to complete and maintain annual programmatic trainings and demonstrate competency

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of the nursing process and clinical care planning
• Skilled in patient assessment and ongoing safety monitoring
• Proficient documentation and reporting to meet regulatory standards
• Experience with milieu management and recovery-focused, person-centered care
• Medication oversight and coordination with interdisciplinary teams
• Comfortable training staff, scheduling, and handling pre-authorizations
• Excellent communication, professionalism, and customer-service orientation
