Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor conscious sedation during endoscopy procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Circulate in the procedure room and assist physicians with colonoscopies, EGDs, bronchoscopies and interventional upper endoscopies
• Accurately document procedures, meds, and patient status in Epic to keep the care team informed
• Label and handle specimens correctly, coordinating with the lab and clinicians
• Recognize and manage dysrhythmias and other acute changes in patient condition
• Lead and coordinate the team when acting in a charge capacity, ensuring smooth workflow and patient throughput
• Collaborate with anesthesia, physicians and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (explicit requirement)
• Epic experience required — strong charting skills a must
• Previous charge nurse experience required — proven leadership on the unit
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Travel experience required — comfortable working in varied clinical settings
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) — typical requirement for RN roles (state licensure expected)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven skills in bronchoscopy, colonoscopy and EGD procedures
• Experienced circulating nurse in the procedure room
• Competent in administering and monitoring conscious sedation
• Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Strong specimen handling and labeling practices
• Comfortable working with Epic charting system and electronic documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced procedural settings
