Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality occupational therapy interventions focused on ADLs and functional independence
• Perform thorough evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
• Document all patient care accurately and promptly in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Use and monitor adaptive/equipment devices (H200, L300, BURT) as part of therapy
• Educate patients and families to support safe transitions and ongoing recovery
• Manage caseload efficiently while maintaining strong clinical judgment and compassionate care
• Be flexible to support unit needs, including occasional weekend coverage

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Texas (OTR or state equivalency required)
• Basic knowledge of inpatient rehab (must have)
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience (as listed)
• BLS certification (required)
• Previous inpatient rehab experience preferred
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR (experience preferred)
• Willingness to work at least 2 weekends per 4-week period

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of inpatient rehab practices and typical treatments
• Skilled in ADL training and formal patient evaluations
• Proficient documentation and charting in Meditech
• Familiarity with H200/L300 and BURT equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Time management and ability to handle a varied caseload
• Outgoing, flexible, and patient-centered approach
