Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage and prioritize emergency patients quickly and confidently
• Deliver high-quality ACLS/BLS/PALS interventions and emergency care
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and the ED team to coordinate patient flow
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech and follow unit documentation standards
• Recognize and respond to stroke/STEMI and pediatric emergencies promptly
• Provide compassionate education and communication to patients and families
• Float to other units as needed per Methodist floating policy while maintaining standards of care

Qualifications

• Active TX RN License ONLY (temporary licenses will not be accepted)
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• TNCC certification and NIH training required
• Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Room (ER) nursing experience
• Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and weekends; willingness to float as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
• Clinical competence in stroke/STEMI recognition and pediatric emergency care
• Comfortable performing urgent care and ED procedures
• Proficient documentation skills in Meditech or similar EHRs
• Excellent communication, teamwork and critical thinking under pressure
• Adherence to unit policies including dress code, attendance and floating guidelines
