Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to PCU/Stepdown patients during night shifts
• Assess and monitor patient status, interpreting telemetry and vital trends to guide care
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately according to orders
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practitioners and interdisciplinary team members to implement care plans
• Document patient care thoroughly and efficiently in Meditech EMR
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and escalate concerns when needed
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments and discharge plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and handoff communication to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Current RN license valid for New Hampshire (compact licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years experience in PCU, IMCU or Stepdown (required)
• Active American Heart Association BLS (required)
• Active American Heart Association ACLS (required)
• PCU/Stepdown checklist current within the past year (required)
• One supervisory signed reference from the past year (required)
• Meditech EMR experience (highly preferred)
• Previous travel nurse experience (highly preferred)
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility (NO LOCALS) and included with submission
• All licenses and certifications must be current at time of submission
• Limit requested time off (RTO) to 5 days while on assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment in a stepdown/PCU setting
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Medication administration and infusion pump management
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR or similar electronic charting systems
• Effective communication and teamwork during high-acuity night shifts
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and respond calmly in urgent situations
• Commitment to documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance
