Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe care to Med-Surg and Observation patients with attention to detail and clinical judgment
• Continuously monitor telemetry and respond promptly to arrhythmias and other changes in patient status
• Float between Med-Surg and Observation units as needed to meet patient care demands
• Perform thorough assessments, administer medications, and manage IV therapy following policy
• Communicate effectively with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and patients' families to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Participate in on-call coverage as required by the contract and support unit staffing needs

Qualifications

• Current, active RN licensure valid for practice in Arizona (or compact privileges where applicable)
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• Comfortable and experienced with Med-Surg nursing, telemetry monitoring, and observation unit care
• Willingness to float between units and adapt to changing patient assignments
• Able to work 12-hour night shifts and participate in on-call rotation
• Note: Candidates with a permanent address within 100 miles of the hospital cannot be accepted per the 100-mile radius rule
• No more than three days off requests allowed during the contract

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry rhythm recognition and rapid assessment skills
• Strong Med-Surg clinical judgment and patient assessment
• Skilled in observation unit workflows and escalation of care when needed
• Clear, professional communication and teamwork under pressure
• Proficient documentation and time management on busy night shifts
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks while maintaining safety
