Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care to adult ICU patients, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• Implement and monitor advanced life support interventions as needed using ACLS/BLS protocols
• Collaborate closely with the 24/7 intensivist team to manage complex cases and escalate care appropriately
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses accurately in Meditech EMR
• Support unit flow and teamwork by stepping in during high-acuity periods and assisting colleagues
• Participate in patient and family education, ensuring clear communication and compassionate care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (permitting practice in the assignment location)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Critical care experience in an ICU setting; 2 years ICU experience preferred
• Comfort and experience with ventilator management and care of mechanically ventilated patients
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR and common ICU equipment (IV pumps, bedside monitors, Pyxis)
• TNCC is a plus for trauma-focused candidates
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a patient-centered attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care and ICU protocols
• Ventilator management and respiratory support
• Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS)
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical record
• Familiarity with Pyxis, Plum IV pumps and GE bedside monitors
• Ability to manage variable patient ratios (typically 1:2; may be 1:1 or 1:3 depending on acuity)
