Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, triage, and stabilize emergency patients with speed and compassion
• Perform focused and thorough clinical assessments and interventions
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency protocols safely
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Document patient care accurately and communicate changes clearly
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and ED workflow optimization
• Support and mentor colleagues to maintain a strong, cohesive team environment

Qualifications

• Current Washington State nursing license or multistate license (required)
• Nursys verification of demographics (required)
• Approved 6-hour suicide prevention training (required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NIHSS certifications (required)
• Experience and knowledge as an Emergency Department nurse
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and availability for extra shifts as needed
• Team-player attitude with strong communication and adaptability
• RTO must be pre-approved and will be added to the end of the contract

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing fundamentals: triage, rapid assessment, stabilization
• Familiarity with NIHSS stroke assessment and emergency protocols
• Meditech experience is helpful but not required
• Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
• Comfort with pediatric and adult resuscitation procedures (PALS, ACLS)
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients and prioritize under pressure
