Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, and stabilize emergency patients with speed and compassion
- Perform focused and thorough clinical assessments and interventions
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency protocols safely
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and communicate changes clearly
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and ED workflow optimization
- Support and mentor colleagues to maintain a strong, cohesive team environment
Qualifications
- Current Washington State nursing license or multistate license (required)
- Nursys verification of demographics (required)
- Approved 6-hour suicide prevention training (required)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NIHSS certifications (required)
- Experience and knowledge as an Emergency Department nurse
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and availability for extra shifts as needed
- Team-player attitude with strong communication and adaptability
- RTO must be pre-approved and will be added to the end of the contract
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency Department nursing fundamentals: triage, rapid assessment, stabilization
- Familiarity with NIHSS stroke assessment and emergency protocols
- Meditech experience is helpful but not required
- Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
- Comfort with pediatric and adult resuscitation procedures (PALS, ACLS)
- Ability to manage high-acuity patients and prioritize under pressure
