Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional mobility and design individualized treatment plans
- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to maximize patient independence
- Document patient progress clearly and communicate changes to the care team
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to coordinate high-quality patient care
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe movement strategies
- Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment that emphasizes recovery and dignity
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with facility policies
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license (Michigan licensure required or eligible)
- Active CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Previous clinical experience as a licensed PT (travel/contract experience a plus)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
- Ability to manage documentation in electronic medical records
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred or Master’s in Physical Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong assessment skills in musculoskeletal and functional mobility
- Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and assistive device education
- Knowledge of safety, fall prevention, and discharge planning
- Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and adapting to new clinical settings
- Good time management and organizational abilities for a busy caseload
