Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients’ functional mobility and design individualized treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to maximize patient independence
• Document patient progress clearly and communicate changes to the care team
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff to coordinate high-quality patient care
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safe movement strategies
• Contribute to a positive, patient-centered environment that emphasizes recovery and dignity
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with facility policies

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license (Michigan licensure required or eligible)
• Active CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Previous clinical experience as a licensed PT (travel/contract experience a plus)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-centered approach
• Ability to manage documentation in electronic medical records

Education

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred or Master’s in Physical Therapy

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment skills in musculoskeletal and functional mobility
• Skilled in therapeutic exercise, gait training, and assistive device education
• Knowledge of safety, fall prevention, and discharge planning
• Comfortable collaborating across disciplines and adapting to new clinical settings
• Good time management and organizational abilities for a busy caseload
